Definitely a two-day mantask.
I want to build a window-seat but there are some small cables in the way. Particularly one that powers the shower!

When the weather was nice at the weekend I had this for breakfast! It was a superb idea, clotted cream, black-cherry jam and a cup of tea.
Brilliant. Very pleased with myself.

Well, after chopping down that tree in an hour it took three hours to did the stump up. Bloody hell.
I ended up hand-sawing through five HUUUGE roots, then putting a small trolley-jack underneath it to jack the big bastard out!
I figured if my little car jack can lift a 2.5T car up on two wheels.. it can tear this treestump out of the ground. I was right, it came out no danger.

Lovely long day today. Finished off with a BBQ a small fire and a lot of rum.
The most popular mantask to date, drawing admiration from neighbours on both sides of the fence as it fell.
Garden looks much bigger now.
I think I will install a hot-tub where the tree used to be and plant some nicer trees around that.

A Brooklyn Heights playground was renamed to Adam Yauch Park today, in honor of the dearly departed Beastie Boy. [via]

“ring ring Hello? Are you joining my conference call? Well it isn’t cancelled. Get on it you wanker. click”
Just overheard at work. This is the sort of to-the-point comms sadly lacking most of the time.
Just say what you mean.

Old trainers and borrowed headphones. It must be the marabastard.
Only the other day a man knocked on the door and when I answered he asked “Is your mum or dad in”.
Despite this, look what those arseholes at Facebook are targeting me in their ad-network: Hairloss and “women seeking older men”, the bastards.
Bare fucking cheek. I’m thirty two!
It’s no wonder I only log in twice a month.
Well the first of the bastard marabastard runs have taken place. It was meant to be five miles, at least that’s what my virtual trainer Jeff Gaudette reckoned I should be doing via Runkeeper.
Five miles for the first run, I mean for fucks sake. Anyway I managed 4.69 miles Jeff so I hope that’s ok.
Frankly I could have done a bit more but it would have meant running back past my house again and then returning which I simply could not face. I guess I underestimated where halfway would be by a few hundred feet.
I feel surprisingly fine after it, though my knee hurts and the shoulder I injured fucking 17 years ago falling into a mini-ramp on my skateboard is painful.
Thank-you to everyone that has sponsored me so far, very very grateful, I will do you proud.
Wowsers!

More mantasks tonight! Replacement of tensioner, idle pulley and belt on my car. It has been whining.
I checked the tensioner about 700 miles ago and thought “sounds a bit ropey but it’ll be ok for a bit”. When I removed it tonight it sounded twice as bad.
Like an old skateboard wheel :(
Anyway, will whizz round the block later and see if my whine is gone.
Hey here’s something awesome.. now we have a house.. we can get a dog :)
